La Asociación Horizonte Proyecto Hombre de Marbella

Sobre la Asociación Horizonte

La Asociación, que ayuda a una media de 300 jóvenes al año, tiene en marcha varios proyectos como el programa terapéutico educativo que asiste a personas con problemas de drogadicción y los Programas “A Tiempo” Proyecto-Hombre de prevención. Otros programas se llevan a cabo en los centros de inserción social de las Albarizas, La Patera y el Ángel de Marbella. Asimismo, la Asociación gestiona piso de acogida tutelado 24 horas para los toxicómanos que siguen el tratamiento además de asesorar a las familias y formar al personal voluntario.

La Asociación Horizonte nació en 1982 de manos de un grupo de matrimonios católicos con el objetivo de ayudar a los jóvenes marginales. Durante los primeros años, la actividad se centró en la charlas de prevención sobre drogas en los colegios de Marbella y en 1984-1985 colaboró con el obispado de Málaga y La Orden de Terciarios Franciscanos y fundaron el Centro Español de Solidaridad de Málaga, que con su Patronato tutela el Programa Proyecto-Hombre para Málaga y su Provincia.

Miranda Pothecary and her love for art (part II)

Miranda was born in Sevenoaks Kent in the UK. Coming from an artistic background, her mother studied fashion and her grandmother was a renowned local watercolourist. Miranda studied fashion at the London College of fashion, qualifying with distinction in art and design. She had her own design label manufacturing designer wear selling all over the world, in particularly to major department stores in the USA. These included Neiman Marcus, Sachs 5th Avenue and Bloomingdale's. She went on to design for other well-known companies and private clients, and was well renowned for her beautiful eveningwear, as well as day and sportswear and silk prints.
In 2003 she decided to change her direction to pursue her ultimate passion for painting and drawing. Miranda has now established herself in Malaga, South of Spain as a portrait artist especially interested in animals, which have been well received and recently has been asked to present her work in Barcelona for an exhibition in summer 2009. Miranda's success lies in her ability to draw the spirit and likeness of her subjects with real depth and sensitivity.

Rob Miller paintings


Rob Miller is a British Landscape and seascape artist, a colourist, who studied art at the University of Bolton; Robs work captures a moment or a situation. The movement of light; a mood caused by weather; the simple pattern of nature; the situation of a building or the marks made by animals or humans on the land. He looks at these and then creates on canvas or paper a sense of place; so that the viewer can still recognise what they see and yet examine it through a new creative perspective. Rob works in both his studio and on location in the campo or on the beach in Oils, acrylics, watercolour and mixed media.

Inspired by the European artists De Stael, Picasso, Turner, Rembrandt and Cezanne, Rob is also influenced by the Spanish poets Lorca and Neruada, along with the French poet Philippe Jaccottet and the Englishman Ted Hughes.

Robs work has developed over the last twenty or so years and is now in many private collections in the UK, Spain, the USA and the Netherlands. Since concentrating solely on his painting Robs new work is being currently bought by art dealers in the UK through his British agent Phil Harewood at Ascot Studios UK.
Robs work can be seen in a number of venues in Andalucía and by arrangement with the artist. He considers Andalucia, its culture and its Sierras a one of the most beautiful places to work.
