Rhys Daniels Trust: article in Guardian

It is my great pleasure to share this wonderful article from Isabel Jensen from Guardian that promotes Marbella and Costa del Sol in a positive light.

EPPING: Spanish Golf tournament raises £150,000 for Rhys Daniels trust
10:45 am Tuesday 28th July 2009

By Isabel Jensen from Guardian
For an on-line version, please click here

A GOLFBALL stopped the jokes of comedian Stan Boardman, at least temporarily, as he took part in an annual fundraising tournament for the Epping based Rhys Daniels Trust.
Thirty nine teams of sponsored golfers teed off in the Costa del Sol, raising £150,000 between them.

Publicist Max Clifford helped organise the tournament for the Trust, which provides respite care for families of seriously ill children.

The trust was set up in memory of Epping brother and sister Charly and Rhys Daniels, who suffered from Late Infantile Batten's Disease which claimed their lives in 1999 and 1998 aged just eight and 11.

Celebrity golfers were among those taking on the 36-hole challenge, including Andy Gray, Gary McAllister, Jean-Christophe Novelli and Craig Fairbrass.

They competed for the coveted Rhys & Charly trophy- which was won by Bermondsey Lads Team 1 and Regency Building Services coming a close second.

Best individual prize went to Jason Stuart and best celebrity scorer was Craig Fairbrass.
The event ended with the popular Butterfly Ball at the Hotel Puente Romano in Marbella.
More than 400 guests, including Chris Eubank, were entertained by Stephen Lloyd Morgan, Austin Drage (X-Factor 2008) Tee Green and Masquerade.

The next big fundraiser will be held at the Woolston Manor Golf Club in Chigwell on October 9.

Tips for healthy living article from Echo magazine

(To enlarge the article, click on it)
Tips for healthy living has a story... Some of you may know that before I started to write Blogs, I have been a passionate athlete and health therapist: Running, Yoga, Stretching, Gymnastics and Kick-tae bo are still my favorite sports. I worked as a fitness trainer and at the same time Shiatsu and Indian Head and Neck massage therapist for some time.

I always had two careers, one in administration (UNIDO in Vienna) and the second one was my hobby that developed into business: fitness... Simultaneously, I worked in the Holmes Place nd VIC and after my move to Marbella, fitness became my full time job before becoming a passionate Blogger... I also worked as a make-up artist and still enjoy doing it.... I enjoy expressing my creativity in anything that I do...

Many of my clients asked me to share my tips for healthy living, which is in fact a balanced lifestyle... I hope you will enjoy reading it, even though since then I learned a lot more and it could be updated... The reason why this article was written in the first place was my incredible health check result at that time that was showing half of my real age...

I always lived healthy and before doing that specific health check, I did a cleansing program by eating raw vegetables, drinking freshly pressed fruit and vegetable juices and lots of water... At that time, I was preparing myself for my very fist half marathon and I knew that my result would depend primarily on the condition of my body, even though it has a lot to do with the frame of mind. It worked! my first (and last) half marathon was great: 1.54 min without much training... The nurse who examined me was the person who motivated me to write this article in the Echo magazine from IAEA and share my knowledge with others, which I did and now I am sharing it with you.
Anyone who is interested to know more about health can start by reading this small article that is a summary of some of the most important principles that I knew at that time... Even if you just start reducing the dairy products and increase the consumption of fresh, raw vegetables, fruits and drink more water, your body will notice a big difference.

Wishing you health, balance and happiness...

Type 2 Diabetes can be reversed article

Type 2 Diabetes Can Be Reversed In 30 Days!

This is well documented and has had excellent results when the treatment is strictly controlled, and of course that means raw and alkaline diet, it also means that this is a permanent diet and you cannot go back to the bad old ways, of eating diabetic inducing foods.

Most of us have a pancreas that produces insulin but the insulin is not effective because the beta cell's have become tired and cannot keep up the enormous pressure of continuous production to counter the huge quantities of refined sugar and high fructose corn syrup that the food manufacturers manage to include in their products, and so, resistance is the result, in fact type 2 diabetes should be and probably will be called "resistant diabetes" in the future.

If you are interested in knowing more about this, please let me know, simply send an e-mail stating your interest in reversing diabetes, and I will schedule you for a meeting with our resident doctor, for a personal discussion.

I now have a CD which follows 6 patients through 30 days of changing their diets, reducing their medication, (under medical supervision) and finally, coming off all medication within 30 days. (http://www.rawfor30days.com/)

I would be more than happy to show this CD, and perhaps someone could arrange for a group of us to meet at a venue to be decided, maybe at your home ? (This is an invitation)

We have one of the most exciting treatment courses right here, on the Costa, so I invite you to learn about the power of diet, and start to reverse your diabetes.

Almost everything we eat feeds your diabetes, keeps it going, and eventually, you end up with heart disease as well. In addition we know that being in poor health can trigger some of the more feared diseases.

One other strong message I wish to send, "IT IS NEVER TOO LATE TO CHANGE" let us talk about reversing diabetes.

Most of us also have numerous other medication in the form of tablets, capsules or suppositories etc, which will also become a thing of the past if you take this course, I refer to such things as anti-inflammatories, anti-hypertensive medication and statins, etc.

It is now well documented, that our food supply is polluted, our water supply and the air we breath is polluted, placing huge demands on oxygen, which is required, to excrete all those toxins and which incidentally, is being diverted from our red blood cell's and ultimately all the cell's of the body, thereby opening up the gateway to disease.

It is essential to maintain oxygenated red blood cells however, many of the foods we eat are responsible for poor red blood cell health, they become sticky, cling together and become irregular in shape. This impairs the ability of the red blood cells to carry the prodigious amounts of oxygen and nutrients that they are designed to carry, therefore, disease inevitably follows.

Let us take a look at some diet suggestions, this is what Mike Adams, editor of "Natural News", says about breakfast.

Breakfast is a meal that should be very low-glycemic; one that should have absolutely no refined carbohydrates and no refined sugar at all. Typically, he has a smoothie of low-glycemic vegetables each morning, usually, cucumber, celery and fresh sprouts, combined with some low-glycemic fruits, such as blue berries, or celery, broccoli and tomato, with apple and banana, the choice of fruit and vegetables is yours however, it is recommended that you stick to two fruit and three vegetables in your smoothie.

Sometimes instead of fruit flavor, he has chocolate, but the chocolate he consumes is raw, unprocessed cacao. It has no milk fat and no sugar whatsoever.

Sometimes he adds "stevia" as a sweetener, because stevia does not affect blood sugar, and is a good choice for diabetics.

This type of breakfast is highly nutritious, satisfying and the taste is wonderful, also it does not slam his blood sugar around the way the standard breakfast does.

Mike Adams goes on to say; this low glycemic breakfast helps to keep his blood sugar levels between 85 and 110 all day, and if you keep your levels low and stable, the whole day you are energized, you are more alert, your pancreas will not be producing insulin and you will not therefore, gain weight.

Once a diabetic starts to inject insulin, you are encouraging weight gain because insulin is a fat storage hormone, which is why insulin is so important for diabetics, so a change of diet is essential, if not, diabetics become heavier and heavier then they start to suffer from heart disease, cardiovascular disease, knee pain and hip pain, and pretty soon, they suffer from diabetic neuropathy-numbness of the limbs.

The majority of all leg amputations are performed on diabetics as a result of this condition,

The reason maturity-onset diabetes is so common today is due to many years of dietary indiscretions. Remember, that the pancreas produces insulin to enable the body to use glucose.

When one consumes a diet high in startches and refined sugar on a frequent basis, the beta cells become exhausted and cannot keep up with the load, which leads to insulin resistance.

So, to recap, remove refined sugar, hydrogenated fats, trans-fats, and artificial sweeteners, you should eliminate, bread, pasta, cereals, rice, white flour and fried foods in addition to dairy products. (Its a start)

Remember it is never too late to change your eating habits and the huge improvement in your health, will be worth the small effort it will take.

There are 258 million diabetics in the world, of which 10% are "insulin dependent", the rest of us are "insulin resistant" or type 2, remember diabetes is NOT a disease of increased blood sugar, this is a symptom of diabetes.

The final word should go to "exercise" and you should build up your exercise to one or two hours per day until your blood sugar is under control.

The object of this exercise is to reduce your insulin medication!

Ecological and Economical Solution: Eco LED Lights

LED Lighting: eco-friendly, saving electricity and money

Low energy lighting is being touted as the product of the future. LED is the buzzword of the moment in interior design. Light-emitting diodes, or energy-saving lights, are growing in popularity due to their use of famous architects.

Micronetics Inc. Ltd is the company that designs and manufactures high-power, high-brightness LED lighting products uniquely marketed to the commercial and industrial main lighting and auxiliary markets. The company now has offices in Switzerland, Bahrain, Qatar, Argentina and Panama and new representatives in Russia. There are so many different lightings from: emergency lightings, street lighting, radar sensor lighting that can even change color and many more.

Micronetics has been established since 1958, and from base in Geneva free-zone, where it has been Master stocking Distributor of Philips, Mullard, Miniwatt, Valvo and Eimac tubes.

Micronetics can still boast that it stocks over 700.000 tubes, mainly of Philips production, as well as Telefunken, Siemens and GEC, etc, in addition to all premium American brands.
ECO LED Lights and the Kyoto Protocol – Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) is an arrangement under the Kyoto Protocol allowing industrialized countries with a greenhouse gas reduction commitment (called Annex 1 countries) to invest in projects that reduce emissions in developing countries as an alternative to more expensive emission reductions in their own countries. The most important factor of a carbon project is that it establishes that it would not have occurred without the additional incentive provided by emission reductions credits. LED lighting can achieve CDM, because 100W LED lighting can replace 300W Mercury lighting or 250W HPS lighting, save 80% to 95% energy. According to our energy bureau information, to produce 1 kWh energy will create 0.638 kg CO2. For example, if using LED lightings with some quantity to replace Mercury or HPS lightings and achieve saving 100,000 kWh energy totally, 100,000 x 0.638 = 63,800 kgs CO2 are reduced, which meet Clean Development Mechanism request.
