Ayuda a la casa de acogida materno infantil de las misioeras de la caridad

Una casa de acogida de bebés, hijos de madres solteras, que las Misioneras de la Caridad (más conocidas como Hermanas de la Madre Teresa de Calcuta) tienen abierta en Tánger, y en la que tienen recogidos a 22 niños entre 0 y 2 1/2 años (entre ellos una pareja de mellizos). Siguiendo la frase de la Madre Teresa “No los matéis, dádmelos a mí”, las Misioneras de la Caridad, acogen a madres solteras embarazadas, y por ello socialmente repudiadas, que en la Casa esperan el momento del nacimiento. Una vez dan a luz, las madres y los recién nacidos se quedan al cuidado de las Hermanas, por lo que gracias a esta iniciativa son muchos los bebés salvados del aborto.

L.I.V.E. Christmas appeal for Malaga Children´s Home

ORPHANAGE CHRISTMAS GIFT APPEAL

Christmas Gift appeal for L.I.V.E. charity in support of the local Malaga Orphanage "Cuidad de los Ninos".

L.I.V.E is the local ex-pat charity supporting the Malaga Children’s Home “La Cuidad de los Ninos”.
Every year, the charity holds a Christmas party for nearly 200 children that the Children’s Home cares for.

This year's party was held in Nerja on Tuesday 8th December.
The children of “La Cuidad de los Ninos” have been rescued by the local authority from terrible, inhumane depravation. There are more than 50 residents living in the Home run by Brother Juan. In addition, the Home provides a safe haven for food, clothing, warmth and schooling for a further 100+ children brought into the Home on a daily basis from the nearby poverty-stricken shanty town.

The children in the home range from aged 2 – 18.
WE NEED YOUR HELP…

We are asking for donations of gifts and presents for their Annual Christmas Party.
Please wrap each gift and clearly mark whether it is for a boy or a girl.

“These children have so very little of their own” says Brian Marsh, Chairman of L.I.V.E. “if the ex pat community can contribute something, anything, we can send a strong signal to these young boys and girls that despite the difficult financial times we find ourselves in someone still cares about them”.

As always throughout the year, we are also keen for donations of clothing, toiletries, food or money. The Home and the resident children are very much dependent on your donations.

Capital Gain Tax Return article from the International Lawyers

Before 2007 the classical Spanish tax scheme on capital gain tax established two different tax rates applicable to profits obtained due to the sale of a property. Residents were subjected to a 15% tax rate while non-residents were obliged to pay 35%.

The European Commission began two infringement procedures against Spain in 2005 and 2006 for not to comply the European Court of Justice Resolutions on capital gains tax. These resolutions stated that Spain infringed the principles of free provision of services and of free movement of capital and persons, by discriminating non-residents trough a less favorable tax regime.

In order to fulfill EU resolutions Spain changed the system approving a homogeneous tax rate for both residents and non-residents from 15% and 35% respectively to 18%. In spite of the reform, the fact is that the tax regime until December 2006 was illegal under the terms of the EU treaties, implying the possibility for those tax-payers affected to Reclaim and be refunded the 20% overcharged.

LEGAL PROCEDURE
As the European Union Law is directly applicable in every member state, the law and rights derived from the treaties shall be directly applied by the national courts. Therefore there is no need to appeal to any European Institution.

As expected, the Spanish Tax Office hasn’t accepted any of the claims filed, referring the issue to higher instances. Therefore the procedure to achieve a refund is a little bit more complex than just an application. There are 3 instances and claims involved in the process. Being realistic the length of the process can take around 3 years in some cases, however a shorter period seems possible taking into account the ultimate court cases.

LIMITS
There is an essential deadline limit according to Spanish Law, only taxes paid during the last 12 years can be reviewed. To interrupt the prescription is necessary to present the administrative application. Therefore only capital gain tax paid from 1997 and December 2006 can be appealed.

The second limit is that only those who paid the full Capital Gains Tax at 35% after paying the initial Retention (5% of the selling price) can reclaim.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED
POA for litigation.
Copy of the Spanish Tax Form “Modelo 212” signed and presented to the Spanish Authorities at time of payment.
Title deeds of the Purchase and the Selling. If you can not find one of these documents, don’t panic, we will be able to obtain a copy for you.

LEGAL EXPENSES

Crisis, What Crisis?

The Classic Car Club of Andalucia Goes from Strength to Strength

In these times of doom and gloom how nice to hear of at least one association that is having lots of fun and can boast incredible, rapid growth! Whilst many other bodies and clubs are suffering and struggling to survive, the Classic Car Club of Andalucia is positively flourishing.

In just over a year the Club has almost 400 members. In that year the club has put on a huge number of social and classic car events, catering for all tastes and interests.

Whereas many clubs have to restrict their calendar and cancel events, the CCC of A is expanding theirs! In November, no fewer than four hugely successful events were run including a three day gourmet classic-car tour centring on the Costa de la Luz, a very special day out at the Ascari racetrack and a trip around the museum at Ronda together with other, regular club events.

In December there are also four events arranged. A dinner at El Chaparral, a very special Christmas Classic Car run which will start from the famous parador in Málaga and feature stops in Benalmadena Pueblo, Fuengirola Castle and Mijas, together with a parade through Puerto Banus and a Christmas lunch at Ogilvy & Mailer in Los Naranjos. There will be the club’s season topping Christmas ball at the Hotel Tamisa Golf and the following day the club joins forces with the town of Casarabonela to celebrate the Fiesta de Los Rondeles by providing a classic car display in the town square. The Ruta Gastronomica will be the focal point of this splendid festival together with the classic car display.

Both January and February are fully booked with four events in each month including a special ‘Curry Sunday Lunch’ and classic car display in Puerto Banus, a Burns Night celebration, two Classic Car Runs and a special Charity fund raising event in February in conjunction with the La Cala Lions.

Stephen Lloyd-Morgan

Stephen Lloyd-Morgan is a professionally trained singer, having studied opera at the Welsh College of Music and Drama and Musical Theatre at the Mountview Academy of Performing Arts in London. He has since performed in a number of musicals and operas both in the UK and Ireland.

Since moving to Spain in 2007 Steve has gained widespread popularity and critical acclaim, especially for his after-dinner entertainment evenings which incorporate a wide ranging repertoire of Musical Theatre & Opera `Crossover´ Classics. He now has a dedicated following and these performances are often sold out.

Renowned Music Impresario Victor O´Gilvie has worked in the industry for over 30 years, and has organised Concerts for many top international artists along the Costa Del Sol, including BB King, Ray Charles, Gloria Gaynor, Paco de Lucía, Elton John and George Benson. Of Stephen Lloyd-Morgan, Victor recently wrote, "I have seen many talented singers during the years I’ve been involved in the Music Business, and surely Steve is one of the most talented performers to come through in this particular area (opera & musical theatre) in many years." - October 2008

Steve’s open and friendly face does not give away how hard he actually works, and how determined he is to succeed. A patriotic Welshman from the Rhondda Valley, South Wales, he is undeniably a born singer and entertainer.

Steve is a truly dedicated professional, evidently passionate about his art. He somehow manages to juggle his rehearsals and numerous performances with his full-time job with an investment bank in Gibraltar. Those who have met Steve describe him as shy, quiet and extremely unassuming. It is therefore particularly surprising that this is the same person who sings such breathtakingly powerful songs.

Performing a handful of his repertoire in an evening would be an achievement for many, but to sing such demanding songs relentlessly in English, Spanish or Italian, almost without pause, sometimes for up to two hours, is remarkable.

Thanks to its originality and quality, our live entertainment will bring an added spark to your venue, giving it a unique artistic flare.

Our shows are designed to be performed at small to large venues. They are available for private or public events, advertising promotions and any other occasion where we can help to liven up the moment with the color, power and emotion of Visual Arts.  We have the experience and the versatility to fill your every need.

Our Art Shows feature a variety of themes you may choose from:

1 - the “Upside-down Art Show” - an image can hide another :
presents a unique insight into the art of painting across the ages, followed by an exploration of the art of upside-down paintings or reversible images, illustrated by some of the most consummate artworks of Arcimboldo and Salvador Dali, to name just a few.  The show then takes us on a journey into the fascinating oil painting entitled “The Gardens of Memory," an incredibly detailed triptych measuring 4m40 x 1m20, conceived by Ricmeric in the 80's.

2 - the “Meditation Art Show” :
accompanied by relaxing world music, this show displays breath-taking views of our univers, meditative pictures, mandalas, animated kaleidoscopes and inspired photos taken by Syl Chad exploring unsuspected beauties of Nature, abstract intricacies of reality, and experimental photos.

3 - the “Andalucian Show” :
specially created for Andalucian venues. Featuring stunning views of Andalucia and its colorful folklore.

4 - the “Light Shows” :
created by our light artists, light shows are displayed on stage as an ever-changing backdrop of beautiful images.  Mind-blowing, multi-coloured, psychedelic light shows for concerts, festivals, clubs, bands and parties.
For local bands in Spain, we also offer a light show specially created for Flamenco bands featuring stunning views of Andalucia and its folklore.

Our Art Shows consist of “à la carte” 3-act performances: *1

1- a fascinating video presentation (approx. 1 hour) is displayed using a professional video projector on a large screen, featuring fine art photographs, digital art works, paintings, beautiful music and voice-over *2

2- the artists themselves (trilingual *3) interact with the audience

3- the audience is guided through an exhibition of the artists’ artworks.

The art exhibition is optional. You decide if you wish to have it or not. There are no extra fees. We offer a  commission to the client or venue’s owner resulting from the sales. The exhibition displays original oils on canvas, paintings and photographs in the form of Giclée prints.

Each Art Show can be displayed for a one-day event or longer. In the latter case, the fees would be reduced.

We are based on the Costa del Sol in Spain, but we will study any proposal to display the show elsewhere.

Marbella Exclusive: 2010 Forget Me Not campaign

A Norwegian gentleman, Bjorn Heidenstrom is cycling from Oslo to South Africa to collect signed the football jerseys from all teams in all genre. All shirts shall be sewn together to form the world's largest signed football-shirt. The idea is that the world's largest football-shirt will wave in the wind during the World Cup, South Africa, 2010 and contribute to a good and worthy cause. The project is in cooperation with The Refugee Council http://www.nrc.no/ and their campaign: "Forget me not".

Bjorn is asking the world to participate in this activity and provide with any football shirt, even an old one: the team you play for or the team you support! The trip started from the Nobel peace center in Oslo 20. June and during the course of 10 months Bjorn intends to visit over 50 countries.

He visited Marbella from the 21st to 28th November. He needs a lot of help on his journey and that is why Del Sol Packaged helped to organise a golf tournament in Marbella Golf And Country Club during his visit to Marbella. Blue Sky International were proud to celebrate 3 months of the Europe’s first ever F1 Experience at Centro Comercial Parque Miramar in Fuengirola on Friday 2nd October. Guests were given the opportunity to experience the thrills of driving a real Formula 1 car around over 60 of the world’s most exciting grand prix tracks. The car, built to an exact specification of today’s F1 cars, is mounted on pneumatic gas cylinders which allows the driver to feel the G-force and hear the crowd, creating one of the most intense driving experiences imaginable.

Many people gathered along with Marbella TV and local press and media to toast the success of Blue Sky’s CEO, Carlo Mason’s latest project. The F1 car has proved very popular with not only members of the public, but with group bookings and private parties, as well as being a popular publicity vehicle for local businesses.
