Upside-down Art Show - An image can hide another - a unique art show with audio-visual presentation, art exhibition and live music organized by our friends Syl Chad and Ric Meric (Syl and Ric), a couple of visual artists based in San Pedro.
This unique art show took place on 30th and 31st of January 2010 in Passion Cafe in San Pedro (centro comercial ‘La Colonia’), Málaga.
The two-day artistic presentation consisted of different act performances.
First of all there was a video presentation of photographs, displayed on a large screen with Live Music, that introduced the fascinating world of colours and the art of painting across the ages, followed by an exploration of the ‘Art of Upside-down’ paintings or reversible images, illustrated by some of the most consummate artworks of Arcimboldo, Salvador Dali, and Ric Meric. Besides, the artists themselves inter-connected with the audience and Ric Meric’s artworks.

The music was performed by Lorenzo, who played the new and fabulous musical instrument called Hang Drum.

About the artists:Originally from France, Syl and Ric are Painters, Photographers, Web Designers and Screenwriters. Their original creations, combining Surrealism and Hyperrealism, are mainly inspired by esoteric traditions and symbolism, but aside from any intellectual approach, they mostly hope to communicate to their human fellows positive feelings, as well as their love for beauty and harmony.
Their activities also include various audio-visual shows, video projections and light shows combined with musical or choreographic performances.
Syl, with deep interest in photography, writing and singing, experimentes in fusing different aspects of art: drawings, painting, photography, digital art.
On the other hand, Ric is a great painter and thinker with an academic background in Philosophy.
While living in the country side in south of France, he produced numerous paintings.
The couple traveled extensively and organized various personal exhibitions, audio-visual shows and continued experimenting on photographs and paintings with abstract and figurative expressions, mostly the beauty of nature. In 2004, they both moved to the Costa del Sol city Marbella, in the south of Spain.
